Project DIY Virtual Home Improvements is led by a husband and wife team, Don and Chris Hamblin, that have approximately 70 years of combined experience in the home improvement market. They have successfully built a home improvement business in the Rochester, NY area and now they are focusing their efforts in helping you to transform your house into your dream home.
Don has over 50 years experience in the construction industry. He can help in any aspect of your home improvement project as he has seen and done everything from building a house on an empty lot to troubleshooting areas in customer’s homes that others could not diagnose. He has trained more than a dozen novices over the course of his lifetime, including his wife and business partner, Chris. Often times, his trainees had no experience and couldn’t even hold a hammer properly. Many of his trainees have gone on to own their own home improvement businesses and work as general contractors. Don has also managed multi-unit properties and acted as a landlord for 40 years. He understands how to work with tenants to diagnose and triage household issues in a cost efficient and timely manner. He is talented in identifying potential issues prior to emergency scenarios and has helped homeowners save thousands of dollars over the course of his career.
Chris has been in the home improvement business for more than 20 years. Prior to meeting Don, she was a hairdresser and worked with a different set of tools. Since meeting Don, she has helped to build and fully renovate five houses as well as worked on hundreds of remodels including kitchens, bathrooms and basements. In addition to manual labor, she specializes in helping customers in all aspects of styling and modernizing their home improvement projects. Over the course of her home improvement career, she has assisted clients in the overall design and decoration, many times taking a primary tole in selecting interior paint colors, textures, drapery, blinds, fixtures, flooring, ceramic tile, etc. She has created rooms that appeal to contemporary, rustic, traditional, or modern tastes. She has also
mastered organization and provides recommendations to help find solutions for storage space in small areas. Her advice is budget friendly and has resulted in cost savings for numerous homeowners.
